Thami is a telecommunications professional with over 20 years varied technical and management experience.
He has been involved in all project phases, from concept, through design and implementation to commissioning and close-out. He has had extensive involvement with both public and private commercial sector customers.
Thami has played a key role as project team leader with multi-disciplinary teams on implementation and delivery of telecommunications networks including wireless and fibre optic projects.
He was also involved in the management of building different site types for cellular operators including building fibre optic network sea landing sites and a NNOC (National Network Operations Centre) facility from scratch.
Prior to joining Altron Nexus, he worked for various entities including Vodacom SA, Plessey, Broadband Infraco and Eskom.
Thami holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree from Durban University of Technology and a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Mongosuthu Technikon. He has completed various leadership courses at GIBS, University of Witwatersrand and Warwick University.
Thami was appointed as Executive: Service Delivery at Altron Nexus with effect from 1 December 2021.
